Nathan was staring at the rose in front of him. Just a day ago this had been the best thing in the world. The feeling of the rose petals against his lip - the most sensitive part of the body.

Now there was nothing. He was running his fingers over the rose in front of him. He let out a shaky breath. Maybe - just maybe if he tried one more time. He took the rose between his fingers and lifted it to his lips. He ran it over his lips but apart from the smell of the rose he couldn’t feel anything.

It was gone. Once again.

He had been stupid. So stupid to think that he could actually get rid of his Trouble. For a whole day he had been able to feel, to experience everything around him. Now it was gone. Not only the feeling of the rose petal on his lip, also the feeling of the fabric of his t-shirt on his skin. Or the little breeze that was going through his room. He knew it was there, he just couldn’t feel it.

He wrapped his arms around his knees and pulled him up to his body. Even that was something that he couldn’t feel. He couldn’t feel his own body.

The worst part was, he’d do it again. He’d give it up again to save this girl. To give her a normal life.

It was awful but he’d do it all over again.

Interessante Promptumsetzung. An den Tastsinn hatte ich noch gar nicht gedacht, oder wie es sich anfühlen muß, den zu verlieren.
