Anm: KA was mich hier geritten hat. Ich hätte nicht gedacht, je ne HdR FF zu schreiben, weil mir der Canon heilig ist, aber nach dem letzten Rewatch kam mir der Gedanke. Gollum ist und bleibt tot genauso wie Denethor, sonst würde es zu sehr vom wohlfühl-Klima abweichen. Aber Boromir lebt.

The weather was sunny. It was warm but not too hot on this first of May 3019 of the Third Age of the world. The War of the Ring was over and the age of the King was about to begin on this very day. Just half a year ago Boromir, Son of Denethor Steward of Gondor had been convinced he would never be able to accept a king on Gonddor’s throne. But now on the day of the coronation… he was proud. Proud of what had been acieved. He was a different man from the one who had left Gondor almost a year ago. But he was more content. Still proud but less bitter. The journey had been hard. He had almost died on Amon Hen. Even his companions had given up on him. But he couldn’t be angry at them. The situation had been grim. He was glad to be alive and now here to witness the start of a new age!

He had learned to trust Aragorn - No Elessar… The new king. 

The ceremony was as festive and dull as all ceremonies of this kind were. Well, now Boromir would have to look for a new place in the world. But he was sure Elessar would not abandon him. 

And sad as it was that his father had been turning to the same madness that had tried to get him at Amon Hen and burned to death, in a way Boromir was glad that Aragorn didn’t have to fight for his throne. By now Boromir would follow this man everywhere. Yes, Boromir was grieving his father. But he also was a realist. His father would not have been able to accept the new king no matter how many he had healed in the aftermath of the war, how many lives he had saved. Without Elessar, Boromir wouldn’t have any family left as Faramir had also been among those deadly wounded. And for his brother’s survival Boromir was more than happy. He had always loved his brother dearly had always seen Faramir’s qualities beyond the battlefield. They were different but that wasn’t bad. He looked to his brother beside him and smiled. He was happy Faramir had found a woman who made him happy. A shield maiden of Rohan, Sister of King Éomer. A good match. And they complemented each other so well. And Elessar himself would also marry today. He had loved Lady Arwen for so long he also deserved this luck of himself. And Boromir? Well, he still looked for the right woman. Maybe she would never come. His biggest loyalty was to his city and country anyway.

When the ceremony was over the newly crowned king made some announcements. The first of which was: “People of Gondor. There will be changes in the future. But I always have this land’s best interests in mind. And I have in mind the fact that I also am mortal. So my first decision is: The position of the Steward of Gondor will not be abolished. He will be my second in command.”

Boromir’s eyes widened. He had not expected that. And Aragorn had never said anything about it. 

“And I will leave the position to the man who is supposed to hold it anyway. Boromir Son of Denethor, come forth.”

Boromir gulped but did as he was asked. When he stood in front of the newly crowned king he bowed. “I am thankful for your offer, king,” he said. “And I will gladly fulfill the part to the best of my abilities.”

“And you will at once drop these formalities. You have earned my trust.”

Boromir wanted to bow again but the strict look in Elessar’s eyes kept him from it. He was glad he was alive. He was glad he was here and he was more than happy he could spend his life in the service of his country. Now life was truly good.

Ich wusste nicht, wie sehr ich Boromir lives brauchte, aber... damn. Das ist ein sehr, sehr schöner Gedanke/Konzept. Danke dafür. <3
