Kommentar: Ich habe beschlossen, ab jetzt einfach Drabbles mit der ersten unsinnigen Idee zu schreiben, die mir durch den Kopf geht, sonst komm ich ja nie in die Gänge... Logik, was ist das?
There’s something wrong with him. There has to be.
First Instinct
There’s something wrong with him. That’s her first thought when she sees him. There has to be.
His skin is too pale, almost white against the dark hair, and he’s too thin, almost frail, in that long coat of his. There’s a hungry look in his eyes, in the cut of his face.
Her second thought is to dismiss the first. She’s judging him by human standards, and he, clearly, isn’t human. How is she to know what is normal for unearthly beings such as he? Perhaps his frailness is merely symbolic, indicating the way dreams fade at the first light of day.
There’s certainly nothing weak about that piercing gaze of his, like he can somehow see through all the layers right down to the bottom of her soul. And while he keeps his voice low and chooses his words carefully, nobody here would dare to interrupt him. There’s an old power there, one that has no need for show.
And still. She almost misses it, the way he leans onto the table when he finally gets up. But once she is alerted to it, it is noticeable during his walk as well, the fact that he favours his right leg ever so slightly, that all his movements in fact are a little too careful, too deliberate.
Blink, and you’ll miss it.
But she didn’t blink.
She watches him leave, and wonders who tried to kill the lord of dreams.
She wonders especially if they could have succeeded.

Date: 2022-08-31 09:48 pm (UTC)Was fällt dir ein, das so runter zu reden, wie du das grade gemacht hast? I like this, I like it a lot! Ich weiß wie gesagt nichts, aber a) will ich jetzt mehr wissen und b) funktioniert es toll ohne irgendetwas zu wissen. Wenn kein Fandom dran stehen würde würde es immernoch funktionieren. Und damn, es ist einfach ein gutes Drabble, es funktioniert so gut!
