A/N: Follow up to this. Tycho has been captured, tortured and almost been turned into a sleeper agent. House arrest is a reasonable measure. Only Wedge doesn't think so.
Spielt vor den X-Wing-Büchern. Tycho und Winter tänzeln um eine mögliche Beziehung drum rum, aber sind meist an unterschiedlichen Enden der Galaxis im Einsatz.

When Wedge finally got to wrap his arms around Tycho, to pull him close and assure him that everything was going to be alright, he had just about run out of favours to trade, bribes to pay and threats to make. He suspected that it actually had been Winter who'd pulled the strings that finally got him into the arrest cell block. - How she'd managed that from half a galaxy away, he didn't know.

"You're shaking, Wedge."

Tycho was gaunt, his skin and hair oddly grey. But he was chuckling slightly and he was warm and… "You're back," Wedge breathed. "We thought you were…" He trailed off.

"Dead?"

Wedge raised his head and looked firmly into Tycho's eyes that almost looked like the ones he remembered.

"Or worse," he said and watched as Tycho, slowly, deflated.

"It was," he croaked. "Worse."

Wedge pulled him into another tight hug. "I'll get you out of here. After everything, your own people can't be the ones to hold you captive."

"Wedge…"

"Tycho."

"Wedge, I'm under house arrest because there is a very real possibility that Isard broke me." Over the years, Wedge had spent a good amount of time trying to come up with a suitably poetic description of the blue of Tycho's eyes. Stormy. Icy. The colour of Corellia's oceans seen from orbit. Pale had never been one of them.

He cleared his throat. "Did she?"

"No!"

"See? I'll get you out of here."

"You say that like it's easy." Tycho's voice was hoarse but there was something soft, fragile in it. Hope?

Wedge shrugged, carefully relaxed. "Well, I am a highly decorated war hero… Oh, and of course, we've got Winter on our side."

That actually got him a smile. A sad smile that was brittle around the edges, but a smile. "Winter…"

"She's on an assignment, but I'll get in contact with her. She... missed you."

Tycho's smile wavered. "How is she holding up?"

"Now that you're back…" Wedge actually didn't know. "She never stopped looking for you, but there was a good amount of time when she had to hope that you actually were dead because the alternative was so much worse." The very real alternative as it turned out.

Tycho, notoriously good at hearing what Wedge didn't say, nodded. "And how about you?"

"Oh, I'm good, I just need to get a friend out of prison. Contemplating a minor coup currently… Either that or I'll have to ask Solo for a favour."

"That sounds like an inhumane ordeal." Tycho grinned.

"That's what I'm thinking. - I've got about half a squadron of ace pilots who'd follow me into mutiny, that should be enough to take out a small planet..."
