“Wade!” Spiderman shouted the moment he landed with his feet on the floor.
Deadpool looked up, stopping with what he was doing. “Spidey!”
Spiderman came closer with fast steps, a tenseness in his body that was hard to miss. “What are you doing?”
“What does it look like?” Deadpool punched the man he was holding once more before he let him down to the ground. He lay there bloody and motionless.
Spiderman just looked at the man incredulously. “Why didn’t you wait for me?”
“Couldn’t risk these guys to get away.” Wade crossed his arms in front of his chest.
“Are you insane?” Spiderman shouted and went to check the pulse of the man who lay closest to him. “What were you thinking?”
“I’m thinking about making this city a safer place. Sometimes we have to do more, Webs.”
Spiderman just shook his head. “Not like this. There are other ways. There are better ways.”
“I know these kind of people, Spidey. They will be free again in no time. And they can’t be on the streets. They are dangerous.”
“No!” Spiderman took a step closer to Deadpool. “You came to me. You said you wanted to learn. You wanted to be better. Leaving a bloody trail behind you is not being better. It’s falling back into old patterns. I don’t doubt that these guys are evil, Wade, I trust your judgement, but doing something like this,” Spiderman spread his arms to made Wade see the mess he had caused, “is wrong.”
“They can’t hurt anyone ever again.”
Spiderman just stared at Wade for half a minute until he finally shook his head once more. “We’re over, Wade. This doesn’t work. Not with you doing something like this over and over again. It’s as if you don’t listen to me at all.”
“I listen.”
“Yeah but not closely enough. I think we’re just too different. I’m sorry, Wade.” And before Deadpool could protest any more Spiderman already jumped into the air and swung out of the little alley.
