Teil 1

Although Shiro knew that he needed to hurry up he took his time to sit down. The black lion was powered down - exactly like the Atlas. It wouldn’t just turn on for him. Shiro was aware that he needed to help it start. So he reached for the controls with a little reluctance. It had been a while since he had sat on this chair. So so long. He had been connected with Black on some other level and Shiro hoped that it would help him now. His first touch didn’t do anything but Shiro hadn’t expected it to. So Shiro closed his eyes to get a better connection with him.
“Come on, old friend, Keith needs our help,” he said out loud with a quiver in his voice. The thought of losing Keith after this long final battle was too much. Shiro just wanted it to be over. And for all of them to be okay, especially Keith. “Please,” he whispered now.
He took a deep breath and concentrated on the machine around him. He tried to forget about Keith for the moment and just feel the lion, trying to find him in the depths of the robot. She was there, Shiro knew it. He just needed to find this little spark and help her come back to the surface. So Shiro let himself fall, wanted to go as deep as possible. He had been living inside this lion and it shouldn’t be too hard but right now Shiro couldn’t find the connection they once shared.
With a frustrated sigh Shiro opened his eyes again. It was still dark around them, no lights or energy on. He looked back over his shoulder to Keith who was still lying motionless on the ground, Kosmo right next to him.
Shiro needed to help him. He needed to find a way.
“Come on, please, Black. For old time’s sake?” This lion had saved his life. Shiro knew how protective she was of her pilots and Keith was her pilot right now. She accepted him after Shiro was gone. “Please, Keith really needs our help. And the others, too.” If Keith was in such a critical state the others wouldn’t look different. They all needed medical assistance. And this lion was the only thing right now that could locate and find them. At least if Shiro could manage to turn this machine on.
But Black still didn’t stir, not only a purr in Shiro’s head. She was completely quiet.
But Shiro couldn’t just give up. “I know you’re tired, girl. It’s been a long and hard fight. I’m tired too but we need you one last time. I need you to save him. So please, help me.” Shiro could feel the tears running down his face, could feel the dread crushing him. He was about to collapse right there on the seat when he felt a little quiver. It wasn’t a movement in the proper sense more like a vibration in his own body. Black was finally reacting to him. Shiro smiled lightly and closed his eyes again. Once again he tried to find his inner source that was connected to the lion. He dug deep, tried to find his own power source that was so very weak and then looked for the one of the lion. It was almost as if their two souls were touching. It felt like an electric bolt when Black finally woke up. Shiro could hear the machines around him jumping to life and he could feel Black inside of him. “Thanks, girl,” he said when he opened his eyes. Black had already got up to her feet, looking around.
“Okay, let’s help your pilot. Can you find the other lions?” In front of Shiro a map showed on the view screen. There were four arrows, all scattered around. The yellow and red lion were pretty close to each other, also very near to the Garrison Headquarters. Shiro would start there.
Shiro pushed the consoles forward and Black jumped up into the air. It didn’t even took 30 seconds before he were at his destination. Black probably used all her power to be faster. Or did Shiro himself activate the wings? Shiro wasn’t sure anymore. His insides were a big mess, he didn’t know where to put all these emotions.
Shortly after he landed right next to the red lion. People were already running towards it, probably from one of the slave camps.
Shiro jumped up, hesitated a split second when he stood next to Keith but knew better than to just bring him to safety. First he had to assess the situation before he could bring Keith to the Atlas. He wasn’t the only one who was hurt and Keith would never forgive Shiro if Shiro would have just saved him and none of the other paladins.
Shiro ran out of the black lion and towards these people. “What’s the status?” he shouted over to them.
One of the man who was covered in dirt stopped to look at him. “You’re Shiro, right?”
Shiro just nodded. “Yes. Have you gotten Lance out of there?”
“Two men just went inside. We already got the kid from the yellow lion. His family is with him. He’s unconscious but alive.”
“Okay, we get Lance in the black lion and then I will pick up Hunk and take them to the Atlas. You should all make your way over to the Garrison Headquarters. The Atlas will return there as soon as they have power back on. And most likely the first are already on their way on foot.”
“Okay, I will tell the others.”
Right in this moment the two men came out of the red lion with Lance in the middle. Shiro’s heart made a jump when he saw that Lance was awake. Immediately he started running towards him. “Lance!” he shouted over to him.
Lance looked up, searching for the source of the voice. A big wide grin formed on his lips when he saw Shiro. “Hey,” he said and Shiro only heard it because he had been so fast to run over to him. Lance was extremely weak and his left leg stuck out in a weird angle. That had to hurt like hell.
“It’s good to see you alive,” Shiro said and took the place of one of the men after he thanked him for his help. “How are you feeling?”
“Peachy!” Lance said and tried to widen his grin but he contorted his face in a pained expression.
“We’ll get you out of here. We’re picking up Hunk on the way and then I’ll get you all to the Atlas where someone can treat your wounds.”
“So you have found everybody? They’re okay?”
There was so much hope in Lance’s voice that Shiro hated to crush it. But he wouldn’t lie to Lance. He averted his gaze a little. “I only have Keith on board so far. I’ll go find Pidge and Allura after I dropped you off. They’ve come down a little further away. It would take too long to get to them.”
“But they could be in danger,” Lance protested immediately and Shiro could understand. He had also started with Keith in his search. It was only natural that Lance would think of Allura first.
“I’ll get to them, Lance, I promise. But first I need to get you three to safety. You need a doctor.”
“I’m fine. I can wait.”
“Keith can’t.” It had already been way too long for Shiro’s liking. The sooner they’d get to the Atlas the better. He would even leave Hunk if he knew that he would make it but he couldn’t be so selfish. To save three was better than saving only two. And with a lot of luck Pidge and Allura would be fine to wait a little longer.
“What do you mean?”
“He’s in bad shape, Lance. He needs help right now.”
Lance just nodded. “Okay. Bring us to the Atlas then.”

Okay, endlich ein Kommentar von mir!
Gooooott, mein Herz! Shiro!
._. BITTE?
