A/N: Zu meiner Verteidigung… äh, nö. Es gibt Bonus-Punkte für vollständigen Crack, nicht wahr? Außerdem sollte jeder mal „Telegram-Stickerset“ unter Fandom schreiben. Und wo ich schon dabei bin ist das hier ein Tätowierer/Floristen AU. Ha.
Princess Ariel was a nerd. Which, all things considered, was not the worst thing one could say about literal fucking royalty. In fact, Pocahontas thought it was sort of charming. In that weird an outdated government body I don’t approve of is paying for my rent this month, but it could be worse because the princess who randomly showed up in my tattoo parlour with three bodyguards is a maritime biology nerd way. Which, really, should not have been a thing.
While Ariel went on about water snails‘ defenses against all the pointy, crushy hazards coming for their soft innards, the door chimes and Belle‘s cheerful „Aurora!“ announced the arrival of their weekly shipment of flowers. Usually, Pocahontas made a point of being there for receiving the decorations, because as the owner of Colors of the Wind she was responsible fort hat sort of thing, not because of Aurora’s plae skin that just begged for a dash of color, shut up Belle, but today she had been distracted by royalty and, implausibly, water snails and had forgotten the time. Not that that was a problem, of course.
„It’s quite fascinating, the kinds of materials that can be incorporated in their shells“, Ariel explained despite the fact that her teeth were gritted in pain.
„Shall we take a break?“
„No, no, if we stop now, I think I won’t come back… People told me the neck would hurt like a bitch but…“ There were tears glistening in the princess’s eyes. Pocahontas sympathised. While not the worst, neck tattoos definitely were up there. But she had to agree, a few more minutes might just have been enough to get over the worst of it.
„Sure. – So, what about those snail shells?“ If lecturing about maritime creatures help, it helped. Also, it was endearing, the way Ariel’s eyes lit up with enthusiasm.
„It’s an arms race. Like, literally.“
„Discussing politics?“ An amused voice from the door interjected.
Pocahontas didn’t flinch because she was fucking good at what she was doing, but the bodyguards did, resulting in three guns being pointed at Aurora’s pretty, pretty face. Impressively, she managed to keep up her severely unimpressed facade.
„It’s okay“, Pocahontas hurried. „She’s a friend. Our florist.“
At that, the guns were lowered. Slowly, while making it very obvious that they were not being re-holstered, but Pocahontas was all for small victories. And keeping Aurora’s face unimpaired. Because she was her friend. Duh.
Aurora regained her composure quickly. „I know this isn’t the best neighbourhood, but that seems excessive.“
Pocahontas carefully dabbed ink away from Ariels throat and tried to hide her ridiculous smile. „You never know who comes storming into your studio... But, naah, Aurora, meet the entourage of the heir to the throne.“
Ariel lifted a hand and waved. What a nerd. „Hi. Although I’m not the heir. Strictly speaking, I’m number eight in the line of succession, all my sisters and Attina’s kids are in line before me.“
Aurora just nodded as if this was an everyday occurance. Discussing the line of succession with someone actually on that list in the back room of a tattoo parlour. Just another Tuesday. Sure. Pocahontas had vivid fantasies about what would finally make her lose her cool. Not like that, of course.
„Nice to meet you.“
Ariel, on the other hand, beamed. It was blinding. „Likewise!“
Pocahontas cleared her throat. „Can I help you, Aurora?“
„Belle said you wanted to talk about tropical flowers or something?“
Belle had probably said a lot more than that, judging from the amused flicker in Aurora’s eyes, and Pocahontas would kill her. Slowly. „Yeah, right, I would need some as a reference, but I kinda need to finish this…“ She trailed off, indicating the partially coloured pincers of the crab on Ariel’s throat.
„Oh, no, please, I don’t want to be a burden. - Talk to your girlfriend, I can probably use the break!“ Ariel’s smile was only growing wider, but had lost all the nerdy charm and drifted into decidedly lewd. Pocahontas felt strangely betrayed and vindicated at the same time.
„She’s not-“, she said at the same time as Aurora drawled „Thank you, your highness.“. Pocahontas would have objected to the obvious disrespect for one of her customers if it hadn’t been for the decided lack of denial. That was… new. Interesting. Exhilerating.
„I’ll be right back, Ariel. And then you need to tell me all about the snails!“
„Sure.“

Du hast ernsthaft zu diesen Stickern was geschrieben und ich bin der festen Überzeugung, dass er mehr davon geben muss. Mit dem Setting (which is perfect), von dir, mit mehr.... Dingen. Und ich habe nicht erwartet, dass es auf Pocahontas/Aurora hinauslaufen wird, aber auch das: bless! Ariel ist übrigens auch so... so niedlich und total adoptierbar und gewinnt den Fave Royalty-Award <3
