Anmerkungen: Tja, was kann ich dazu sagen? Irgendwie hatte ich bei diesem Lied die ganze Zeit tanzende Paare im Kopf. Und dann kam Penelope und naja... Englisch ist immer noch nicht meine Muttersprache, ich hoffe es ist trotzdem erträglich.


It’s already dark outside, when he finally leaves the building. The moon hangs in the cloudless sky, full and round, and casts a silvery light on everything. He knows he should drive home to his son, but he can just stand by his car and watch her.

She moves across that little lawn next to the parking space, eyes closed, arms outstretched, dancing to a music, only she can hear. Her dress is swinging lightly, following her movements. Strands of her hair have come loose from her carefully made hairdo, hanging in her face and she smiles this wonderful radiant smile of hers.

He knows he shouldn’t do this, but he drops his briefcase there and then, and moves towards her, slowly, deliberately, taking her in with every detail. Her slightly parted lips, the way she cocks her head ever so lightly, that small waving motion of her fingers as if she is inviting him to join her. And with every step he takes, he hears more of that silent tune she’s dancing to.

When he reaches her, he just takes her hand. She opens her eyes and he gestures a silent ‘May I?’ And she turns her wonderful smile at him, steps into his arms without the slightest hesitation. She leans her head against his shoulder and he closes his eyes, allowing the music to take over, as they move in perfect sync.

Tomorrow he will be her boss again and she will be his technical analyst, but tonight they are just Penelope and Aaron, dancing in the moonlight.
