Don’t let your Vampire starve
The sounds of the barbecue party caught his attention. So he had found his destination. He took his phone and called Hotsuma’s number. Sometimes the limits of his people were terribly annoying. “Shuusei? You there?” he heard his boyfriend’s voice over some background noise of different voices and the same music he could hear from behind the house.
“Yes, can you get me?” he asked. All he got was an affirming sound and then Hotsuma had cut the connection. Shuusei smiled when he saw his boyfriend coming around the corner soon after with wet hair and only wearing swimming trunks. He licked his lips. What a mouth-watering sight.
“Come in. You’re very welcome here.” Hotsuma grinned and hugged him.
“Thanks… sorry for the inconvenience.” Shuusei said and gently kissed Hotsuma before distancing himself from his still damp boyfriend
“Hey it’s not your fault you can’t just enter every property. Just come, everyone’s waiting to meet you.” Shuusei took his boyfriend’s hand and accompanied him to the backyard.
“How much alcohol have you already had?” Shuusei asked. He could clearly smell that Hotsuma had drunk but that was to be expected from a students’ barbecue party.
“Not too much. Just two beers.”
“And others have been worse…”
“Yep. “ Hotsuma grinned widely at him and Shuusei shook his head. “Some aren’t even allowed in the pool anymore because they’re already too wasted.
“Don’t drink too much more. Or I have to look for someone else to feed me tonight,” Shuusei asked calmly and saw how Hotsuma’s eyes started to sparkle from the thought alone. But if Hotsuma liked it this much he wouldn’t complain. It would be worse the other way round.
But then they rounded the corner and Shuusei could see the party setting. “Your friend is quite wealthy, isn’t he?” he asked when he looked at the large garden with a swimming pool in which a few of the guests were swimming.
“Doctors. Both of them so what do you expect?” Hotsuma asked. “But Rico is no snob though.”
Shuusei nodded and found a young man around Hotsuma’s age coming towards them.
“So we finally get to meet Hotsuma’s ominous boyfriend. He barely shuts up about you. I’m Rico. Make yourself a home. You can take any of the drinks or look at what’s still on the grill and get something.”
“Thank you. I’ve heard about you as well. I’m Shuusei,” he introduced himself.
“Where’s that name from? Hotsuma said you’re from England?”
“Scotland.” Shuusei corrected. “My dad met a Japanese guy when he was travelling the world as I am right now and they were very close friends so he named me after that guy when I was born.”
“And not wearing a kilt?” Rico teased. He was clearly quite tipsy as well.
“Only on high holidays” Shuusei admitted.
“You have one?” Hotsuma asked and grinned widely.
“Of course I do. But I left it at home. So you won’t see it anytime soon.” At least Shuusei hoped he would be left alone for another while. The last time he had been called home had been harsh enough.
“Aw… I’d have loved to see it.”
Shuusei sighed. “When I introduce you to my family…” and he hoped that day would be far in the future as well. He knew they wouldn’t like Hotsuma for who he was. But that was not today’s topic.
“Maah… okay…”
“You have other appealing sights of him no one else can have.” Rico grinned and laughed when Hotsuma turned beet red.
Shuusei chuckled and squeezed Hotsuma’s hand. He was so cute. Rico nodded at them and left them alone again to take care of his other guests.
“Come, I’ll introduce you to my other friends.” Hotsuma said to distract himself. Shuusei had already spotted Chiara, Hotsuma’s colleague in the bar he worked at and waved at her.
All in all it was a nice evening. There were way more people than Hotsuma introduced to him, but Shuusei had already noticed his boyfriend didn’t have many friends. Many disliked him for his hot temper but the few people he called friends were nice to be around Shuusei noted. And they all welcomed him warmly.
“And you’re really allergic to sunlight?” A girl called Miriam asked him curiously. They were sitting at the edge of the pool with their legs in the water.
Shuusei nodded. “I almost instantly get burned and it hurts like hell. So I avoid being outside during the day.”
“But… that must be tough…”
“I got used to it.” Shuusei shrugged. Really it was no problem for him.
“But what about doctor’s appointments and so on? Especially since you’re travelling?”
“I just hope I don’t get sick during the hot months.” Shuusei smirked. Of course he knew where he would find a doctor of his own people if he happened to get sick but that was information Hotsuma’s friends didn’t need to know. “I just need to take care of what I eat” And that he didn’t burn himself again on Hotsuma’s silver piercings. But then he changed topics. He didn’t like his health to be the center of attention. But thank god he could tell Hotsuma’s friends about his journey and they seemed very interested in where he had already been.
It was a fun evening. He accompanied Hotsuma to the grill but nothing on it looked like he could safely try a bite so he let Hotsuma choose whatever he wanted. He got himself a glass of water and stayed at Hotsuma’s side while he ate.
“You wanna dance?” Hotsuma asked when he was done eating. There were more couples out on the lawn dancing so Shuusei nodded. They got up and Hotsuma embraced his boyfriend. Shuusei smiled and leaned his head against Hotsuma’s.
“You like it here?” Hotsuma asked at one point. “We can leave if you’re bored.”
“I’m not bored. Don’t worry so much. I like to see you happy and your friends are nice.” Shuusei smiled and placed his chin on Hotsuma’s shoulder. This was nice too, being close to the beloved person surrounded by his delicious smell. Shuusei smiled. He turned his head to get more of this smell because it was just too nice. How could one person smell this good? But then his stomach grumbled. He hadn’t eaten in 3 days. Of course he was hungry now especially since he was so close to his favourite meal. He glanced around but no one really cared about them, they were just another couple deeply in love with each other.
So he smirked against Hotsuma’s skin before he began to nibble on it.
“Shuusei?” Hotsuma asked quietly, noticing what his boyfriend was up to. “You’re not planning to…”
“I’m starving! Just one bite!” Shuusei begged and looked up with puppy eyes.
“But… I thought you wanted to wait until we’re home.”
“If I take only two sips now I can have more later!” Shuusei argued. “And I’m really hungry! You don’t want me to starve, do you?”
Hotsuma looked at him and sighed. “Okay. But not too much. You know I like it more when we’re alone.”
Shuusei grinned and kissed Hotsuma before he returned to Hotsuma’s neck. Just like before he nibbled on the sensitive skin for a while before his sharp canines dug into the skin and he could taste Hotsuma’s blood. It was so damn tasty that he had problems to only satisfy his biggest hunger. But as promised he only drank less than half the amount he usually took also to conceal that he was doing more than just giving his boyfriend a hickey. Hotsuma always reacted so strongly to being bitten and they shouldn’t be too obvious.
“Thanks” he grinned when he separated from Hotsuma’s neck, licked the last drop of blood away and then his lips.
“You’re welcome.” Hotsuma grinned.
~~~
“Wow, that’s a nice hickey.” Miriam grinned later. “You must be really loved.”
“He is.” Shuusei said and squeezed Hotsuma’s hand. “You have to take care that I don’t take him away from you one day.” At least he wouldn’t be too opposed to taking Hotsuma with him and making him one of his kind. He hoped that Hotsuma would be ready to do that one day.
