Challenge: Romantik/Intimität – In jedem Universum (fürs Team)

A/N: Ripple Effect war ein zu verführerisches Setup für den Prompt. Ich habe noch nie Stargate geschrieben, und die DVDs sind nicht hier so dass ich die Folge nicht nochmal gucken konnte, aber… Flyboys.^^"Was total Grund ist, ein Pairing zu schreiben, das grade mal zwei Szenen zusammen hat.
Daniel didn’t really want to think about all the implications Sam’s multiverse theory had but now, sitting at a table with three Mitchells and one slightly flustered Jonas Quinn, he couldn’t quite help his curiosity.
“Maybe we should compare notes. It could be interesting to see where our universes diverge.“
Naturally, all three Mitchells took that as a prompt to compare favourite pies (pecan, unanimously) and Daniel regretted ever opening his mouth. And took a note on how very not different that reaction was compared to what he would have expected from their own Mitchell.
In the end, Desert Camouflage Mitchell took pity on him: “While I’m relieved to hear that our taste is impeccable, I’m afraid the good doctor needs something more tangible.“
“Super bowl winners?“ Blue Tiger Stripes Mitchell suggested with a shit-eating grin that Daniel couldn’t stand on their own Mitchell at the best of times.
“While that would be a start“, he said, pinching the bridge of his nose, “It’s still pretty small scale. So let’s see… Do we all have the Goa‘uld?“
All four of them nodded gravely.
“Thought so. So maybe… Atlantis?“
“In the Pegasus Galaxy. We send an expedition just a few months back, led by Sam. – The military commander is Colonel Sumner“, summarized Desert Camouflage.
That had Jonas Quinn pipe up. “Interesting! I believe our expedition is led by Dr. Elizabeth Weir and the military commander used to be Colonel John Sheppard.“
Black T-shirt Mitchell raised an eyebrow. “Used to be?“
“He returned to Earth after his husband was shot down in the battle of Antarctica“, Quinn explained but then, an odd look passed over his face as if he was just remembering something. “Oh.“
“What is it?“ Daniel raised an eyebrow in surprise, but Quinn just smiled weirdly at the Mitchells. Blue Tiger Stripes audibly cleared his throat.
“Husband? So… no DADT, I assume?“ His voice sounded strained, which probably wasn’t a surprise. Their own Mitchell was a bit uptight when it came to these topics. - Years in the military and in the South, Daniel figured.
“DA-what?“
Blue Tiger Stripes waved away Quinn’s confusion. “Just a stupid military regulation.“
“We had it repealed, two years ago“, Desert Camouflage Mitchell added and looked at Daniel as if he was supposed to take note of that.
“Oh, how’s that going for you?“, Black T-shirt asked, grinning.
Desert Camouflage shrugged. “Not too bad, although our Sheppard isn’t married. He's also not military, but a scientist at the SGC.“
Black T-shirt made an ‚Aw, shucks‘ kinda face and Daniel felt like he was missing out on a pretty significant part of the conversation.
Apparently, his confusion was obvious, because Desert Camouflage patted his arm sympathetically. “What about you? You have DADT here?“
“Unfortunately.“
“Well, then you shouldn’t ask. But as I’m allowed to tell in an other fricking universe: I’m dating Doctor John Sheppard. And in the utopia Quinn’s from, apparently Sheppard and their Mitchell managed to tie the knot. Lucky bastards.“
That… actually explained a lot, including the faint blush on Blue Tiger Stripes‘ face. But Daniel needed to make sure, assumptions wouldn't bring them very far. Also, he was plain curious. “So, you all...“
Blue Tiger Stripes nodded hastily, before he could even finish the question. “No asking, remember?“
Black T-shirt on the other side of the table just shrugged. “Naah. We did hook up a few times when stationed together in A-stan. Haven't heard from him in years. Now I’m wondering whether I should try to track him down, though...“
“Oh, you definitely should!“ Desert Mitchell said with an almost sappy grin. A grin that Daniel had never seen on their own Mitchell.
Which left him with a million questions. As far as he knew both Michell and Sheppard were decidedly straight in this universe. On the other hand... What were the odds? “I don’t think our Mitchell even knows Sheppard.“
That had Blue Tiger Stripes chuckle. “Well, I don’t think my Jackson knows either.“
Before Daniel could say anything to that, a Mitchell in a green uniform poked his head into the meeting room. “Jackson, Sam and… the other Sam have an idea.“
Over everything that followed, Daniel almost forgot about his conversation with the three Mitchells. He only remembered when Desert Camouflage Mitchell waved to him just seconds before stepping through the stargate back into his own universe.
Their own Mitchell, standing to his right, grinned. “Made a new friend there, have you?“
“We had an interesting conversation. I do wonder how similar our universes actually are...” Statistically speaking, it was unlikely. About as unlikely as meeting various SG-1s from various universes.
“Hu? What about?”
“Apparently, some people just... find each other in every universe.”
Mitchell just raised an eyebrow, his tried and true ‘I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about’ expression in place. But something akin to worry reflected in his eyes. Daniel really shouldn’t ask.
But his curiosity got the better of him. And okay, maybe he enjoyed this a little too much. “Say, have you ever met Colonel Sheppard from the Atlantis expedition?” He forced himself not to look at Mitchell, instead focussing on the SG-1 team stepping through the gate. The choking sound the Colonel made was answer enough, really.
“Sure. Ran into him in flight school. Why?”
“Because, apparently, you do in every universe.”
“In every universe, hu?” Mitchell sounded almost wistful and Daniel couldn’t help a small smile, remembering Desert Mitchell's sappy grin.
“In every universe.”

Aber ich werde mal die Gelegenheit nutzen, in deinem Journal nachzulesen. Sheppard/McKay, sehe ich?^^)
