If someone asked me why do you love him
I could describe your humour, your laugh
the way you answer back when I meow at you
the sheer silliness that only ever manifested itself with you
I could describe your smile, the twinkle in your eye
the seductive glow that excites me in more ways than one
and your long stares that make me question the movement of time
I could describe your caring nature
how you always make sure that I am okay
that I don't feel the pain from the past that is so hard to shake
I could describe your emotional strength
the way you speak about what's passed
not shying away from laying it all out for me
I could describe how we professed our love
the fear in all our words which only made them stronger
and turned them into an eternity no matter what happens
and perhaps it is this last part that fits the most
but how can I truly describe that I simply love you
that I know the feeling and it's there every time I look at you
sometimes a small whisper, other times a loud scream
shaking me out of reality
How can I describe that I love you when I find all words inadequate
they're all tautologies and mean nothing
I simply love you
